SAILING
Jobson Sailing Center
Under the direction of America's Cup winner and ESPN's Sailing Analyst Gary Jobson and Sailing Director Carolyn Grant, GHYC's sailing programs are unmatched on Nantucket. Named after GHYC's Executive Director of Sailing, the Jobson Sailing Center is designed after a 1940's Boat Barn. It is situated on the harbor front with direct access to GHYC's docks and a wonderfully spacious lawn for enjoying incredible island sunsets. GHYC's fleet of 30 boats includes 420's, Opti's, Sunfish, Lasers, Rhodes 19's, Beatle Cats, and kayaks - all of which are available for use by GHYC members. Members are able to dry sail from the beach in front of the Club or take a launch to the Club boats.
The Sailing Center plays host to many sailing events, including special presentations by Gary Jobson and celebrations during Nantucket's Race Week. After a day on the water, our members can enjoy light food and refreshment at the Jobson Snack Bar or meals and cocktails at the Clubhouse, which is just steps away.

Notice of Race
Nantucket Race Week
Nantucket Race Week is an eight-day experience that marshals the entire Nantucket community together in a fun-filled week of regattas, awards ceremonies, and parties. The races provide sport for everyone from young dinghy sailors and families in the household knockabout to grand prix racers at the very top of their profession. The racing begins on Saturday, August 8, 2009 with events scheduled daily through Sunday, August 16, 2009. We are proud to announce that we are working with Sailors for the Sea to designate Nantucket Race Week as a Clean Regatta.
